What I did

First things first. I have to find the Homeless shelters that fit the criteria that I was looking for. This took a while as, much to my surprise, homeless shelters were scarce and, as a result, it took me a while to find the right one. That one was the Friendship Shelter that had been helping homeless people since 1988. I instantly knew it was the right one, so now it was time to actually take action. Now, I need to contact them to see what things they need. This was the response that I received.

Thanks so much for thinking of us! Here are some of our most needed items: 
 

• Cleaning products (Windex, sponges, antibacterial wipes, etc.) 

• Personal Hygiene Items (Toothbrush, etc.)

• Shoes

• Canned Foods

• Blankets 

• Backpacks 

• Amazon or restaurant gift cards  

 

You can deliver any donations to our shelter at 1335 S Coast Highway, Laguna Beach, CA 92651. We have staff there 24/7, so you can drop it off any time, just park in the parking lot around the back or on the surrounding side streets. When there, you can call the front desk at (949) 313-8482, or walk up to the front office on the 3rd floor if no one picks up.
